J.J.McNicholas Auctioneers Ltd was formed in 1994 and to facilitate our clients who were looking to purchase properties overseas, Opportunities Overseas Ltd was formed in 2004. Through our experience in the property business, having dealt in the domestic market since 1994, and the Turkish property market since 2002, we found that more and more of our clients were looking to purchase good quality properties in other countries, either for investment purposes or for their personal use and it was with this in mind that Opportunities Overseas Ltd was formed.

The background to Opportunities Overseas Ltd goes back a long way to my late father John Joe McNicholas, whose name has been synonymous with the insurance industry in the west of Ireland for the past 50 years. He commenced trading as an Insurance Broker under the name of J.J.McNicholas & Sons in 1956. and in 1979, I joined his company. Together in 1984, we launched J.J.McNicholas Auctioneers and J.J.McNicholas Travel Agents and with these companies, we built up an extensive client base through client referrals and recommendations and earned a solid and enviable reputation for offering a friendly and professional service. In 2002, my son Paul joined J.J.McNicholas Auctioneers Ltd, and in doing so has ensured that the name J.J.McNicholas extends to a third generation.

The aim of J.J.McNicholas Auctioneers Ltd and Opportunities Overseas Ltd is to offer quality properties to our clients at affordable prices both in Ireland and various locations throughout the world. We place great importance on finding the right investment opportunities in the right locations and for this reason we and our partners visit and inspect each and every project to ensure that all properties purchased are of the highest standard.
